The beginning…

Welcome to, The first official blog post under the Nick Notion. The start of the first-ever series, To kick this off I will explain the purpose of the series and first give it a simple name, the name for this series is the Life Log. I will be giving a rough summary of what I do each day to act as a memoir, This will follow along with writings I do on the site of the blog for my personal use. The main emphasis of the writings will be information related to my passions the tasks I do and events that I have arranged relating to said hobby. These will include Fitness, Learning, and other writings about topics I’m interested in like history, sciences, arts, Financial information like investing, and money management. I will break each of the topics I write about into their series eventually but will start with paragraphs dedicated to each topic following the introductory for each blog article.

Fitness, The training as I like to call it for today was simply a swim and CrossFit workout nothing fancy just enough to get the body moving and stimulating a small amount of growth. The purpose of my training plan right now is to start from the beginning and to build up a basis that I can work off of for the rest of my life. My goals in the fitness realm are to be well rounded as far as traits to be able to swim and run but not an endurance athlete to be strong and explosive like powerlifters or sprinters. I have always thought about the idea of doing triathlete competitions and have run a few 5k’s and half marathons before, I used to BMX race on a pedal bike and love to mountain bike along with swimming so it seems like the right fit. There are also tough mudders and other fitness challenges similar to that I find interesting as well.

As a secondary topic to Fitness I always include Nutrition as they are so closely connected and dependent on one another it helps keep both in check by monitoring them side by side as one affects the other the better I eat the better I train, the better I train the more I grow, meaning the more I can eat and continuing the cycle.

Learning; The way I like to break down my time is through time blocks which seems like one of the most common ways to conceptualize this cyclical event and use it to organize events to their completion, I break my writings down in order of these time blocks to talk about the notions or thoughts I have had on them as I progress through the day and use to organize the flow of this article. I say all this to explain that I am using my learning block which would normally be dedicated to school or college for reading and journaling as of now, This is where I plan to fit in the writing for the blog and other research I would like to plan along with courses. To continue laying a foundation for future writings such as Life Log entries or additional series like the one dedicated to learning, I have listed a few topics I would like to study in previous writings, I also plan to have my notes from college included within these as it seems to me this could provide value to myself by using the skill of recall in memory of my day and of the topics I have studied to recite them and teach them further setting the subject material into my long term memory. This can also provide value to people wanting to learn about the topic and about how college courses are which I know is something I have looked for.

Financial Management and Investing; As I begin my career and enter into the workforce as a young man I find this to be a relevant and intriguing topic which is why it will be one of the consistent topics I will write about and have a series on this will essentially be me gather information for myself and documenting where I got it from then organizing this into a simplex representation for notes that I will use. Along with all other topics I will write about I envision the building of community around these topics where groups of us come together to talk about said subjects and pool together our notes to help inform one another and act as a form of networking and support group, the idea of mentoring and coaching is always open as well which is ultimately the end goal of connecting like-minded people who want to work together and move forward.
